15 FEBRUARY 2013 - A SILENT VIGIL TO REMEMBER ALL WOMEN
A silent vigil for all women and girls who have died from, or are currently living in, situations of male violence.
In sisterhood and solidarity we will stand alongside all women and girls who have faced, and are currently living in contexts of exploitation, genocide, racism, fascism, neo-colonialism, imperialism, and militarization.
We will remember women and girls who are currently struggling against male violence in places of war and conflict, including Afghanistan, Bolivia and Latin America, Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, Sudan, Kashmir (Pakistan-India), Iran, Iraq, Mali, Niger, Pakistan, Syria, and in the UK.
Date: Friday 15 February 2013
Time: 6.30pm to 8pm
Location: The Edith Cavell Statue, opposite the door of the National Portrait Gallery, St.Martin’s Place, London WC2
You are welcome to bring photos, pictures, and/or a candle to light in remembrance.
